Masterton Family Services Survey

The Families Commission required an understanding of the use and perceived performance of services provided to families in Masterton and the Wairarapa. Colmar Brunton was commissioned to undertake this survey and conducted telephone interviews with 400 families from the Masterton local calling area. Interviews were carried out between the 23rd of April and the 11th of May 2010. All families included in the survey had at least one child under their care (either full time or shared care). This report outlines results from the survey.

The services rated in the survey were chosen after having been identified in a desk-based data analysis carried out by the Families Commission. The analysis resulted in the compilation of a list of services available in Masterton and the surrounding region. From this list the Commission selected those services that were most likely to be accessed by families (based on information drawn from networking meetings in the region, and the inclusion of similar services in other research literature).

This survey contributed to the Families Commission's Social Services in Masterton report.
