What instructions should I leave?

Everyone's 'house rules' are different. But here are some "must do's" for the babysitter:

• Regularly check on your sleeping child.
• Stay awake and alert until you return.
• Watch your child while they are awake and stay alert to safety - such as not leaving your child alone in the bath or near a hot stove.
• Lock the door after you leave and do not open it to strangers.
• Not smoke or drink alcohol.
• Keep phone conversations to a minimum.
• Stick to your rules about watching TV, eating and bedtime.
• Not have friends to visit without your permission.
