This site uses access keys to make it easier for people to use the keyboard to navigate. You can use the keyboard shortcuts listed below to visit commonly used pages on the site, such as the home page, or different parts of any page you are on, such as the search box. (Note that most of these shortcuts are standard on New Zealand government websites.)

To use these shortcut keys you will need to press one of the following key combinations, depending on which browser you are using.

To use these shortcut keys on a Windows or Linux PC, hold down the Alt key and then one of the keys in the table below. On an Apple Macintosh, hold down the Control key and then one of the keys in the table below. In Internet Explorer you will have to press Enter to confirm your choice. In the Opera browser press Shift-Esc, release those keys, and then press your chosen access key.

This site meets most of the WAI web accessibility requirements from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The pages have been tested with a variety of browsers and operating systems, and should work properly in them all. You should be able to ‘read’ all the content and navigate using the navigation menu, even in a browser that does not support style sheets. However, if you have any difficulties, or have any suggestions for improvements, please contact us via email webmaster@nzfamilies.org.nz or fill in the feedback form on the Contact us page.
